Waking up the portrait…

Ali Seifiazad / Computer Science & Software

Hey, I’m Ali.I build things I can’t stop thinking about.

I’m a computer science student who likes turning ideas into real things. Sometimes that’s software that makes life easier. Sometimes it’s an experiment just to see what’s possible.Like the person looking back at you.

02 · Discovery

There’s more going on here.

What looks like a face is actually a collection of systems working together. The skin. The eyes. The movement. And something underneath.

I built this because I wanted to see how far I could take an idea.

Keep exploring. The interesting parts aren’t always visible.

Work

Things I’ve been working on.

Different ideas. Different challenges. A lot of learning along the way. Some started with a problem I wanted to solve. Others started because I was curious enough to try.

01 · Hengam

Hengam هنگام

Making complicated schedules a little less complicated.

Tell Hengam what your team needs. It figures out a schedule that actually follows the rules — or tells you why one isn’t possible.

  1. The sentence

    “”

  2. The rules — the language model’s only job
    • Supervisor ×1 · open → 4 pm
    • Barista ×1 · open → 4 pm
    • No close → open
  3. The week — deterministic code, variant 20/20

Illustration of the engine’s output shape. S supervisor · B barista.

  4. The honest part

If every one of the twenty variants leaves a slot empty, that’s the answer: the week is over-constrained. Hengam reports the uncovered shift and the rule that binds it — it doesn’t quietly hand you something that only looks right.

02 · Brewline

Brewline

A better way to order. From both sides of the counter.

A complete café ordering experience designed around the people placing orders and the people making them.

The customer

Oat latte 12 oz

Pay

Checking your order…Order placed.

Two taps, one dropped connection, whatever: one idempotency key, so exactly one order. The app never offers a blind “pay again”.

Every listing in both languages. In Farsi the whole layout flips to right-to-left, not just the words.

  1. No reviews

A business with no reviews has no rating at all, not a zero. The page doesn’t claim one.

  2. Who writes the stars

Only the server. Review stats and trust badges come from a Cloud Function; the database rules deny them to every client, admins included.

The living portrait

I might’ve taken this one a little too far.

A real-time digital version of me, with a mechanical secret beneath the surface.

  1. First

A scan of my face, running live in your browser, with 51 facial shapes.

  2. Then

The eyes had to follow you. They jump and settle the way real eyes do, and the head follows the eyes.

  3. Then

It had to move like a person: a skeleton through the neck, chest and shoulders, so turns have weight.

  4. And then, apparently

A robot underneath. Real geometry in four layers, cut open on the GPU wherever you look.

About

A little more about me.

I’m Ali, a computer science student at Irvine Valley College in Southern California.

I’ve always been curious about how things work. That curiosity has taken me through programming, creative projects, game-server scripting, AI, and building applications of my own.

These days, I’m especially interested in artificial intelligence, software engineering, and the systems that make complex products feel simple.

I like learning by building. I’ll explore an unfamiliar technology, try something ambitious, break a few things, figure out why they broke, and keep going.

Outside of programming, I’ve worked in different environments that taught me how to communicate, take responsibility, and understand problems from someone else’s perspective.

I don’t have everything figured out yet. But I know I want to spend my career building interesting technology alongside people I can learn from.

Tools I’ve picked up along the way.

Different projects have pushed me to learn different things. These are some of the technologies I’ve actually used to build them.

Experience

Not everything I’ve learned came from a classroom.

Working with different teams and taking on real responsibilities taught me a lot about communication, problem-solving, and what happens when things don’t go according to plan.

Let’s make something interesting.

I’m looking for internship and early-career opportunities where I can learn from great engineers, contribute to meaningful projects, and keep pushing myself. If you’re building something exciting, I’d love to hear about it.

Thanks for spending a little time here.
